Work in Progress

Friday evening painting session, working on a few DAK figures, and posting these pictures from my mobile. Veteran figure enthusiasts will easily  recognise the "Rommel" figure from an old Matchbox Wespe kit. Also a couple of Pegasus Germans posted for duty in North Africa thanks to a head swap and desert uniform paintjob.

    That Rommel figure is sweet
I am looking at the same figure thinking how do you get it looking so good!

    1. Thanks a lot Georgie ! He's got such a lot of detail and the sculpting has such a lot of raised detail that it's a joy to paint. Block colours, a little light drybrushing, a wash and then touch up some lighter areas works wonders.

  3. Nice work John. The raised detail on Matchbox figures (soft and the odd hard plastic bod in their kits) has always been brilliant. Still remember the joy of painting my first box of Brits after struggling all my teen years to paint straight straps on Airfix figures. Probably giving away my age there... ;o)

    Cheers, Dave

    1. Thanks a lot Dave. If it's any consolation, I also remember my first box of Matchbox figures when they first came out lol.

  4. They look really good. I only recognise the 'Wespe' figure but I really like the other two conversions. I'll have to take a look at the Pegasus range more closely. I'm doing yanks just now...last 150 to go.

    1. Thank you ! I saw your Americans, superb stuff. The Pegasus figures are the ones from their German Mortar Team.
